Context
Grief is part of life, and it doesn’t only concern the loss of a loved one. It can also affect those who move far from home or go through a breakup. To break the taboo around grief and help people heal, I created “Cœur en deuil” (Heart in Grief), a podcast that explores the emotions tied to loss and the paths toward healing.
In each episode, guests share their stories, talk about how they navigated grief, and offer practical advice to support others. The “Cœur en deuil” podcast is a safe and warm space where people can share their experiences, find support, and discover resources to get through difficult times.

Colors
The colors chosen for this podcast reflect the range of emotions that arise during grief. Deep black evokes denial and sadness, while warmer tones, like orange, symbolize hope and the moments of light that persist despite the pain. I worked with gradients to represent the shifting nature of these feelings.
These subtle transitions show how emotions intertwine: you can experience multiple states at once, or move from one to another over time. The gradient conveys this fluidity, capturing the idea that grief is a non-linear process where everything constantly blends together.

Typography
Typography
For the podcast’s visual identity, I combined two complementary typefaces. Neue Haas Grotesk, a clean and timeless sans-serif, provides structure and readability, offering a clear framework for such an intimate subject.
In contrast, I created a fully hand-drawn typeface to illustrate the human, imperfect, and deeply personal side of grief. This manual work reflects authenticity and vulnerability, while emphasizing that every journey is unique.

Shop
While it is important to turn to professionals such as psychologists for deeper support, the podcast also offers a shop designed as a complementary resource.
The shop provides tools and comforting items to help people better understand their emotions, nurture a positive outlook, and remember that they are never alone in their journey.
